We arrived at The Phoenix Zoo just after 8:00 AM this past Saturday. It was a typical beautiful pre-Spring day here in Arizona, but we were still surprised by the number of cars at the zoo so early in the morning. We packed up our cart with video cameras and tripods and headed into the zoo.
We had read about the new Stingray Bay exhibit from the magazine the zoo publishes for its members. It claimed that you could actually interact with the stingrays. We decided to visit the new exhibit first. WOW! What a cool exhibit. After washing our hands, we spent the next 45 minutes "petting" these amazingly curious creatures. Just stick your hands in the water and the rays will swim your way.

We had the exhibit nearly to ourselves during our 45 minutes. When we left around 12:30 PM we noticed how packed the Stingray Bay area was (and the entire zoo for that matter). So, our advice is get to the zoo early - and hit Stingray Bay first!
